The waka trip..

Dear, Rhumour

I feel really nervous on this waka especially moving to a new country, your lucky you don't have to move to a new country if you did you will feel scared and nervous,but you dont..I wish you could come and visit me I mean if you want to.

Rhumour im here im at New Zealand I made it! I'm excited but I really want you to come play with me like we use to :(.Anyways I hope to see you again sometime! Gotta go!

My first activity for the summer learning journey!

Fact 1: Maui had used a Jawbone his ancestor gave too him to go fishing.

Fact 2: He wasn't allowed to go fishing.

Fact 3: Besides all of this Maui is also Maori.

Kariotahi beach!

The beach was so fun  but the only thing I don't like about it is that we only got a little bit of water time and I really wanted more water time :(

 I loved the beach but i didn't like the sand because it was as hot as the sun! 

But I enjoyed the water because there were big waves and I got to go on a board and save people Me and my friend Angel were buddys and we enjoyed going to the beach I want to go again!

Killer hill

We are learning about challenges and how you feel.

My challenge was the Killer hill the Killer hill was so hard to climb I couldn't breathe.

This was hard to write because each step we had to do it by yourself.I worked my friends so that part was easy when they taught me how to do it.

I really like writing that's why I always do it and finish it!

 WALT: Find out what type of hook it is.

We are learning about hooks and what type we think it is. We came up with a few examples of what type of hooks they are and a sentence.

Although it was easy it was hard at the same time only because we only had a few books with a few stories in it.

How im unique!

This is a story of how I'm unique, Special and different. to me, everybody in this whole entire world is different and unique even if you have a twin you would probably like the same things or not.This story took a lot of process to go through like plan to organize to write.

The Rangatahi festival

At the Rangatahi festival, we performed, watched and ate.

We took so many photos and enjoyed the day I liked our performance the most because I got to sing and dance. I saw people in the performances smiling and feeling nervous and scared like I did. When I walked on stage I starting shaking because it was cold and I also was so nervous.

My maths warm up slideshow.

This is my slideshow. I do math warm up after every morning tea. Some are hard and some are easy.

I really like to the the maths warm up because it teaches me different strategy's.

 WALT: Use the rules in group time and always be nice during group work.

This week we had to choose a context about class rules. I chose group work and it was pretty easy because there are only a little bit of rules.

This was easy because all we had to do was take photos and put them in a google drawing.

this was easy for me since I did most with my teacher sally.

I think i could improve putting more information in my slide to tell you guys what im learning about and how im doing it.

This week we have been doing a letter to our principal to ask if we can take lead and help the earth by planting plants and fundraising for the things that we need.

We do hope if we could take that opportunity to ask her and she could say yes. 

This wasn't hard it was just like writing a normal letter to someone.

The turtles are in danger! URGENT HELP NEEDED

 WALT:Endangered animals and asking questions.

Me and my reading group did a slideshow about sea turtles.

We came up with some questions and answered them.

Then we put it in our slide.

This was hard to find some information about sea turtles since they are hard to look after.

We are going to find some more information about sea turtles and other species.

I am learning about RRRA!

 WALT: Use Rhyme,Rhythm,Repetition And Alliteration.

😁Today I was joined with Rhumour my Best friend. We learned about Rhyme,Rhythm,Repetition And😁 Alliteration.

The steps we took were..

1. learn about it in a writing group with our teacher.

2.understand it properly

3.make a poster

4.make a blog about it

😜It was fun and easy but I think I could do something more challenging next time.😜

The resource I used was some rhyming stories and some speeches.

The fixing letter..

WALT: Write a letter using a character description.

This took alot of steps to finish my piece of writing

1. We had to plan which took 30 mins

2. We made our first draft

Lastly We got it ready for publishing

This was quite hard since it took a long time to publish and make our first draft.Fortunately I got through that hard work and finished. :)

I am learning about the water cycle

 WALT: we are learning to make an Informative diagram.

This week Room 11 has been learning about the water cycle and i am very interested in it because i figured out that i am drinking clouds? This is very weird but cool at the same time

I learnt that we drink the same water everyday.

WALT: Check our work against the SC

I learnt how to check our work with the SC

First we read books it took along time to get what it means.

Next we made some notes for our story.

After that we actually did our story.

It was pretty easy at the start but then when we wrote it got a bit hard.

I will find the answer to this!

WALT: Make inferences based on more than one text

I have been learning about questioning and it is a it hard because you have to find as many questions as you can it was easy to answer them because you can find the answer in the text very quickly.

WALT: We are learning about forces. We watched a video about forces to help us understand more about forces. We also talked about forces and it took a long time to understand it.

We learnt about forces with demonstration form Sally (our teacher) and we kind of got the idea of it.

We also learnt with paper airplanes to see which force we are using

I thought That The talking was easy but then it was hard to listen because the talk was soooo long
The hardest thing for me was the writing because it took a week to find so many ideas out and out it in a paragraph but I got through.
