  1. Good evening Riley,

Well done on completing your first activity for the Summer Learning Journey programme. I like how you've gone above and beyond and provided us not only with a choice picture, but with other stories about Maui. Could you tell me which one of his ancestors gave him a jawbone to go fishing? Was it their jawbone?
Did you know that Maui isn't just Māori either? In fact, he exists in all of Polynesian mythology. A really good example of this is the movie Moana— in this Maui is actually Hawaiian. There are many different stories about Maui too, how crazy is that?
You've done a really excellent job Riley. However to further improve, maybe you could provide your reader with links to these stories so that we can learn more about what you're posting.

Keep up the good work Riley,

    Jordan.

  2. Kia Ora Riley,

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey! My name is Cadence and I will be working with your cluster this summer. You have made a great start.

In the story of Maui and the giant fish, can you think of any qualities and values that Maui showed in this story. For example, strength - He needed a lot of strength to pull up the giant fish.
You could also add some traits or qualities that his brothers showed in the story.
